Great New Gift Idea for Your Tournament Participants
Great New Gift Idea for Your Tournament Participants by GTAA Consultant Al Abrams.

As we all know, an impressive gift bag is an important part of what we do for participants at our golf outings. We try to include a variety of quality items, including apparel, shoes, head covers, balls, etc.

How about adding an item that is both useful and looks great?

Consider the Fusion 2.5 divot repair tool by Pitchfix. It was named “Best Divot Repair tool” by Golf Digest in their Editor’s Choice Awards.

The award winning Fusion 2.5 is a 3-pronged metal retractable system in a switchblade design. It has an rubberized handle for soft touch and grip, a removable ball marker than can be branded for a sponsor and a built in pencil sharpener.

And it’s incredibly easy to use. The golfer simply pushes it in and out of the affected area, restoring the ground.

Pace of Play is Important for Outings & Tournaments
PACE OF PLAY

There is nothing more that drives golfers crazy than slow play.  You can get a away with a 5 hour round with a full field but if golfers have to wait to hit the ball you will hear it after the round. Golfers will not return to your event if they have a bad experience with slow play.
Here are some ideas on how to keep pace of play and keep your golfers happy.

DO NOT PACK THE COURSE
We think that we need 144 golfers to make the most money. Not true. Consider 120 golfers. This allows a little flexibility and less waiting on every hole.

PICK THE RIGHT FORMAT
Choose the right format based on the caliber of players. Best Ball for more experienced players and Scramble if you have beginners in the field.  Some full field tournaments tell their.
