Make BIG Money with Auctions

Auctions are REALLY BIG MONEY if Done Properly

Auctions go really well with golf tournaments. If you are wondering how some golf tournaments are raising thousands of dollars, most likely it is because they have an auction or two (silent and/or live).  Auctions are big money makers as they give the players an opportunity to shop. Men historically don’t like to shop like women do, but at a golf tournament they can buy things like sports memorabilia that they would normally not buy.

Selling Out Your Event
IS YOUR EVENT A SELL OUT?  HERE ARE THE TOP 10 WAYS TO FIND GOLFERS

The average Golf Tournament only has 72 golfers. A sell out event is between 120 and 144 golfers. Is your event full? Like most outings, most Tournament Planners need more golfers. More Golfers means more money and that means happy sponsors.

So how do we find golfers? Here are just a few ways.
1. Contact the past golfers from past events.
2. Notify your member and donor base.
3. Stress the importance of and invite committee and boards contacts and relationships.
4. Ask the golf course to eblast, post and publicize your event.
5. Buy a list of subscribers from Golf Magazine or Golf Digest.
6. Share lists with other Tournament Planners and organizers.
7. Invite the Men’s Golf Clubs and Woman’s Golf Clubs in the area.
8. Ask the State Golf.

Great New Gift Idea for Your Tournament Participants
Great New Gift Idea for Your Tournament Participants by GTAA Consultant Al Abrams.

As we all know, an impressive gift bag is an important part of what we do for participants at our golf outings. We try to include a variety of quality items, including apparel, shoes, head covers, balls, etc.

How about adding an item that is both useful and looks great?

Consider the Fusion 2.5 divot repair tool by Pitchfix. It was named “Best Divot Repair tool” by Golf Digest in their Editor’s Choice Awards.

The award winning Fusion 2.5 is a 3-pronged metal retractable system in a switchblade design. It has an rubberized handle for soft touch and grip, a removable ball marker than can be branded for a sponsor and a built in pencil sharpener.

And it’s incredibly easy to use. The golfer simply pushes it in and out of the affected area, restoring the ground.
