What are the most important things to do when hosting a Golf Tournament or Outing?

 This is a question that I get all of the time. There are over 100 items in our checklist but obviously there are more important things than others. Stay focused and on schedule and you will be successful. Here are the most important things to do.

#1 – Business Plan with action items and responsibilities
Create a complete plan to keep you and your team on track and held accountable.

 #2 – Volunteer Committee – Your secret weapon.
Recruit, train, motivate and hold accountable a passion, committed and well connected group of individuals.

#3 – Great Golf Course – Give them something special’
Find a GC that golfers get excited to play and negotiate the best deal possible.

#4 – Big Sponsors – Sponsors are your profit
If you give Sponsors a return on investment. They will give you more money.

#5 – Golfers – Fill Your Field
Golfers play because their buddy asks them. Get 9 people recruiting 4 foursomes.   


6 Months Out – Business Plan, Timeline and Volunteers
5 Months Out – Find the best Golf Course
4 Months Out – Sell Major Sponsors
3 Months Out – Promotions and Marketing
2 Months Out – Secure Gifts and Prizes and recruit golfers
1 Month Out – Nail down all of the details
